Flexibility on Board
Single input/single output marine gearboxes are used in river boats and coastal vessels, but also in ocean-going vessels. Depending on the application they can be built with vertically, horizontally or diagonally offset shafts. These gearboxes cover a power range from 1,000 to 30,000 kW with transmission ratios from 1.5 to about 12.1.
These gearboxes can optionally be supplied with or without built-in multiple disk clutch.
Using a PTO (Power Take Off), on-board electricity can be produced by a generator. Here, a variety of solutions is available to our customers. For example, the generators can be driven via a primary or secondary PTO. Special solutions such as PTI (Power Take In) or PTH (Power Take Home) are also possible, as are switchable or two-stage PTOs. To adjust the propeller speed in PTH operation, FLENDER provides a switchable PTO with two different transmission ratios.
