Drum Coupling FTTXL

The FTTXL is a version of the TTXL which provides axial fixation with a coupling in drive-train systems like hoists, preventing axial movement for stable, efficient performance.

Manufactured from forged rings, the FTTXL design allows for special bearing configurations. In the standard market configuration, a fixed bearing is used on both the bearing block and the gearbox, with the drum coupling functioning as an axially floating bearing. Alternatively, a floating bearing can be installed on the bearing block. In this setup, the drum coupling is designed as a fixed bearing type, referred to as the FTTXL product.

Also, in certain special drivetrain layouts, it is not feasible to use a bearing block on either side of the drum. In these cases, the coupling assumes the role of axial fixation. An example is a crane hoist layout where the drum is driven from both sides. In this configuration, one side of the rope drum is equipped with a TTXL, while the other side is fitted with an FTTXL. Special mounting dimensions, viton seals and specialty steel grades for low temperature applications are available as well. Due to the short hub, the MTTXL is in its standard version supplied with spline connection as per DIN 5480. Other shaft/hub connections are available on request.

The performance data are identical with the TTXL.
